Enjoy a descent on the 8 kilometer long sledge run with an altitude difference of almost 1,000 meters and then enjoy a traditional fondue in a cozy cabin.
The package offer can be booked daily from December 16, 2023 to April 7, 2024 or from December 29, 2023 to March 9, 2024 on Fridays and Saturdays. We would be happy to make an offer for groups of 8 or more people. The fondue takes place at your choice in the Bärgbeizli Cheselen (mountain-cabin), Hotel Posthuis, Gasthof Waldhaus (inn), Berggasthaus Tannalp (inn) or in the Melchtal sports camp.
The offer includes the respective ticket and the fondue (excluding drinks). The sledges can be rented for the whole day for CHF 18.00 (price if group is 10 people or more: CHF 15.00) or in the evening/afternoon for CHF 10.00.
The offer includes the sledging pass for the whole day and the fondue fun excluding drinks. You can enjoy the organized fondue at a flexible time.
The offer includes the sledging pass for the afternoon and the fondue fun, excluding drinks. The fondue can be consumed before or after sledging.
Are you more of a connoisseur? With this offer you can sledge down once and enjoy a fondue on the mountain or in the valley. It is also possible to start first with the fondue at the Gasthof Waldhaus (inn) before sledging.
The sledge run is open for night sledging from December 29, 2023 to March 9, 2024, on Fridays and Saturdays from Melchsee-Frutt to Cheselenfirst from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and from Cheselenfirst to Stöckalp until 11:00 p.m.

The 3-hour pass gives customers the opportunity to plan their own day or to do various activities during the day. Skiing in the morning, winter hiking during the lunchtime, enjoying the afternoon on the sunny terrace – everything is possible with the 3-hour pass! The 3-hour pass is valid for three hours from activation at the turnstile. The descent with the Melchsee-Frutt – Stöckalp gondola is still possible after the three hours. The pass can also be used between 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. as long as this is within the 3 hours.

Night sledging on the longest illuminated night toboggan run
From December 29, 2023 to March 9, 2024 on Fridays and Saturdays you can enjoy the nocturnal atmosphere in the white winter splendor. Thanks to autonomous, solar-powered LED lights, our sledging run from Melchsee-Frutt to Stöckalp is illuminated for night sledging. The 8 km long toboggan run is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The eight kilometer long sledge run with an altitude difference of about 800 meters is the longest sledge run in the central of Switzerland. The run from Melchsee-Frutt to the Stöckalp is a great experience.
The largest bird of the alpine region comes back to Central Switzerland. Visit the reintroduction location at Melchsee-Frutt and watch the bearded vultures which were released by the Foundation Pro Bearded Vulture.
There will be no bearded vulture reintroduction in summer 2019.
The reason for this is that the young birds, which are currently raised by the breeding pairs, are all from genetic lines that are already well represented in the Alpine population. They will be released into the wild in other regions than Switzerland.

In summer 2015, young bearded vultures were reintroduced into the wild for the first time on Melchsee-Frutt in the Hengliboden area. Since then, every summer a bearded vulture has been released into the wild on Melchsee-Frutt. Exciting observations can be made at the Hengliboden information stand. So pack your camera and telescope and look forward to this unique experience!
As there is no reintroduction in the summer 2019, the Hengliboden information stand will not be supervised. Nevertheless, we hope that even without reintroduction, bearded vultures that were reintroduced in previous years will regularly appear at Henglirain. The site in the Swiss wildlife sanctuary Huetstock is anyway an area which is rich in wildlife, where ibex, marmots and many other wild animals can be well observed. The team of the Pro Bartgeier Foundation will provide information material.
Far end of the Hengliboden bearded vultures were reintroduce in the nearby crags in early summer 2015 for the first time in Central Switzerland. On the way back, hikers are accompanied by a varied alpine flora along the southern shore of Lake Tannensee, where well-equipped fireplaces invite them to rest.
Almost 3 meters wingspan, fiery red eyes! With its imposing appearance, the Bearded Vulture was long discredited as a bad lamb thief and became extinct in the Alpine region at the beginning of the 20th century. Completely wrongly. Because the bearded vulture is a pure scavenger. In a long-term project bearded vultures have been reintroduced into the wild in the Alps since 1986. Since 2007, individual pairs have also been breeding again in Switzerland. The reintroduction of bearded vultures into the Swiss Federal Wildlife Protection Area Huetstock on Melchsee-Frutt is intended to help them return to central Switzerland. In the early summer of each year, young animals were brought into a rock niche near the reintroduction site shortly before they flew for the first time. In this way they got to know their habitat from an early age.
