Go fishing for different types of fish at 2,000 metres a.s.l. – you can only do this at Melchsee-Frutt! The dream of every mountain lake fisherman, to catch a “Namaycush” can come true at Melchsee-Frutt. Give it a go. You will be amazed.
To be able to exercise the fishing at Melchsee-Frutt, a special patent must be purchased:
Half-day, day and multi-day passes can be obtained from the Kerns and Melchsee-Frutt tourist information offices and from the following hotels: Hotel Posthuis, Berghotel Distelboden, Berggasthaus Tannalp and Gasthof Waldhaus.
The half-day pass is valid and available from 1.00 pm.
Day and multi-day passes (up to 7 days) can be purchased online here.
The vending machine is located at the old mountain station (open 24 hours a day), where you can buy daily permits as well as bait and consumables.
You can now pay by card and TWINT at the ticket machine.
Please note: There is NO longer an ATM in the old Melchsee-Frutt mountain station. Cash can no longer be withdrawn.
The season permit is available at the tourism office on Melchsee-Frutt or Kerns. You must be in the possession of a SANA identity card or the sports fisherman Brevet.
This permit is obtainable on request at the tourism office on Melchsee-Frutt or Kerns.
For early risers, the vending machine (open 24 hours a day) at the old mountain station on Melchsee-Frutt is available with passes. Day passes (adult/youth) can be purchased.

If the statistics are submitted to a patent sales office within 7 days, the statistics deposit (CHF 5.00) will be refunded in cash (no bank transfer / no postal dispatch etc.).
The date of birth is decisive
Statistics deposit for season pass: CHF 50.00
If the statistics are submitted by October 31 of the current year, the statistics deposit (CHF 50.00) will be refunded. The deposit will only be paid out in cash. A bank transfer or delivery by post is not possible.

2-day pass per person CHF 50.00 (excl. statistics deposit CHF 5.00)
Fishing rods can be hired from the Melchsee-Frutt guest information office (old mountain station). The fishing rod is equipped with a buldeau (water ball) and a simple fishing hook. Hiring a fishing rod costs CHF 10.00 per rod for a whole day / CHF 8.00 per rod for half a day. Reservations are recommended. Feumer (landing net) and a set for killing the fish properly are available for a deposit.
Various bait material and accessories can be purchased from the vending machine in the old mountain station, open 24 hours a day.
